how to get my 4 month to go down at 10pm instead of 8pm
Im curently trying to get some sort of routine sorted for my 4 month old , Ethan. I started off with demand breastfeeding from birth . I as someone who doesnt sleep very well myself have for the fisrt 3 and a half months breastfed ethan each time he woke up throughout the night assuming he was hungry and to get him back to sleep ( approx 4 times ) . He was big at birth ( 4.3kg) and i was told he would be a big feeder , so i thought this feeding pattern was normal. He start off in his moses basket and end up in our bed till the morning
He does now sleep in his cot with me in a bed in the same room, going down from 8/9pm for 6 to7 hours and i then breastfeed him whenever he wakes up , approx 3 times per night , a learned behaviour that i have created , falling asleep on the breast then putting him down in his cot.
The main problem is that he goes to sleep at about 8pm and i would prefer it to be a bit later . Im not a greatest sleeper myself and am now very sleep deprived . At 2 am when he first wakes up he only goes back to sleep after a feed but doesnt stay asleep for very long and ends up waking up approx 3 more times throughout the morning ( i breast feed him each time to get him back to sleep.
He has been doing this for the past 3 weeks. When he falls asleep at 8 ish he genuinely is pretty tired and is then quite difficult to wake up.
He does have about 2 naps a day , during the day for about 45min to an hour each nap.
Can you please help.
