Separation anxiety at bedtime - 15 month old
I stopped breastfeeding (which I previously did just before putting Joseph to bed) 3 weeks ago. At first, he still went to bed fine, but the last few nights haven't been so easy. We finish the bedtime routine, say night to daddy, turn out the lights and then I recite the words of the night night book, in the dark. After this I say, 'It's time for bed now etc' and try to put him down. Where the change has happened is that he grips on for dear life and screams bloody murder unless he's held. We did CC at 7 1/2 months and he learnt quickly, but with this new phase he stands there and hold onto me. I tried leaving him to cry yesterday, but he just stood there screaming. He fell asleep last night and tonight in his daddy's arms, and could only be put down once in a deep sleep. Last night he slept through until 6:30, but I don't want to start bad habits. He also seems to be teething. I just don't know how to handle it. I've been researching and have found something called 'wi/wo', but don't understand how to make it work if he won't calm unless held. Any suggestions gratefully received!
