How do I know when my baby is ready to drop the dream feed?

My little one is 7.5 months. He currently has 5 bottles of formula a day (6 to 7 oz each time) every 4 hours (630am, 1030am, 230pm, 630pm and then a dream feed anytime after 11pm). He also has 3 solid meals a day of around 4oz each meal - banana and oatmeal for breakfast after his first bottle, pureed vegetables for lunch around midday and a chicken or turkey puree for supper followed by some plain yogurt around 430pm.
I feel like he should be able to drop the dream feed as it has been getting later and later (last night was 230am having had his last bottle at 630pm). How do I know if he is ready and how do I go about dropping the dream feed?
Also we are moving him out of our room to his own room this weekend. Should I wait until he is happy sleeping there to drop the dream feed or try to stop the dream feed first or do it all at the same time?
