11 month old - too young to move to one nap a day?
Until recently my 11 month old had been having 2 naps a day (9:30 to 10/10:15) and 13:00 to 14:30/15:00. Getting up between 6 and 7am and going to bed at 7am. She is unpredicatable at night (often stirring) but doesnt require or want a feed.
Over the past week or so I have been putting her down for her morning nap at 9:20ish and limiting her to 30 minutes sleep when she finally goes off (seems to be taking longer and longer). She actually doesnt seem that tired at this time any more.
The real difference I have noticed is that she is taking an increasingly long time to drop off for her lunchtime nap - 50 minutes today, 40 minutes yesterday, again she doesnt seem that tired when I am putting her down - although when she does go off she will sleep usually for 1.5 to 2 hours.
I am sensing that she is maybe ready to start moving to a single nap but not sure how best to manage this - do you have any advice. Should I just cut the morning nap out altogether and put her down earlier after lunch? Or gradually reduce the length of the morning nap over a few days/weeks - my problem with the latter is that it takes longer for her to go to sleep than will actually sleep for!
Any advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks
