5 month old baby waking at night not napping feeding every 2 hours
Hello there,
I have a 5 month old baby Ronan, he is happy and smiley most of the day. I have a 2 year old Sean. Sean was settled into his routine very early on (I followed baby whisperer Tracy Hogg) It worked well for Sean. He goes to bed at 7.30pm. He wakes during the night only when teething.
Ronan is our new addition, he was born with acid reflux, that seems to have resovled itself now. He is very happy during the day. He gets very cranky when tired. He goes for a nap at 09.30 but is very difficult to settle. I have to pat him for at least 10 mins. He just screams and screams. He wants to feed every 2 hours and sometiimes sooner. He falls asleep on the breast and will only sleep for 20 -30 mins at a time.
I started to give him some fruit 1oz in the day as he seemed so hungry and breast milk wasn't filling him up he is on the 4th percentile line on the charts.
My husband does not allow for him to cry even for a short while, its not because he feels bad for Ronan but wants to relax himself and can't bear the noise. I don't like the idea of him crying too much.
I know i need to get him to sleep better his current pattern is
7.00 - feed & play
09.30 - nap
10.00 -feed/play
12.00 - feed/play (pears)
1.30-2pm - nap
2.30 - feed/play
4pm -feed/nap on breast
4.30- 6pm play
6pm - bed (bath/ story feed at 6.30)
7.30 sleep
10.30 - dream feed
He wakes for wiind soon after but i pat him back to sleep. I need help to push further time time between feeds, he has had a cold so might have been thirsty so i just fed him.He does wake during the night.
PLease help me devise a better plan for him that i can adapt around being free to feed/cook for Sean.
Many thanks,
Navneet
