I used this forum successfully with my son to ditch his dummy when he was 4 months old, he is now 2 and 1/2 and a brilliant sleeper. My daughter is 19Weeks and I need some help to sort out her sleep.

Ditching dummy and moving out of Moses basket into cot...

Hello again. Can I ask some advice. My daughter is 19 weeks old and has nearly outgrown the moses basket. I want to ditch her dummy soon as I think she'd actually start sleeping through without it, I also want to put her into her cot, still in my room.

Should I ditch dummy and move to cot at the same time or do one first, if so which should I do first? She could last another few weeks in the basket.

She feeds every four hours, her daytime napping is not great as she wakes after one sleep cycle and if the dummy is not put in quick enough she will not settle back to sleep. She has a dream feed at 11pm, then wakes around 3am, I put in her dummy and go to get her milk, often by the time I return she is fast asleep, which makes me think she's not really that hungry, just wants the dummy. She will then wake again at around 4-4.30, I give her the bottle and she settles again till 6.30. Waking finally at 7.30. She is often not hungry in the morning and has her bottle at around 8 or 8.30, which again makes me think she doesn't really need the 4am bottle.

So shall I just go for both from tomorrow: ditch dummy and into cot,or should I ditch dummy first and then go into cot when that is sorted?

My son started to sleep through after I ditched his dummy at 19weeks.

I intend to use pupd or shush pat.

Thank you
