Should I ditch the swaddle or try a new swaddling strategy?

I have a 19 week old baby who is exclusively breast-fed and our night-times deteriorated at about 10 weeks at which point I ditched the dummy but things haven't really improved.

He goes to bed at 7pm, usually with no crying and settles very quickly. Regardless of whether I've given him a dreamfeed or swaddled him he usually wakes up between 12 and 1. At which point I go in and reswaddle him (as by this time he's normally broken free) and then he will settle quickly and sleep for exactly another 3 hours. So around 3.00-4.00am he'll wake again and at this point I usually feed him. He'll then sleep until around 6.30am.

I've tried doing cc at the first wake time but he doesn't re-settle. He just ends up waking my toddler up. I've also tried PUPD but he never settles in my arms, in fact it seems to make him worse that I've picked him up!

During the day he naps fairly well - but only if he is swaddled. Without it he will wake up after 30 mins. He doesn't really enjoy being swaddled and more often than not cries and fights against it, particularly in the day, but it's the only thing that will mean he'll get a decent nap.

To make matters worse I've just found out he's not put any weight on in the last 3 weeks though he's not been poorly. I'm worried that I've been doing cc when he was genuinely hungry so now feel like a terrible mother!

Do you think I should ditch the swaddle or maybe try a new one/technique that'll hopefully mean he'll remain swaddled throughout the night?
