Sleeping through the night
My son is now 7 months. He can settle himself to sleep for his naps and at bedtime. He now wakes once in the night. I am not sure if he is waking out of habit or he is hungry - though he doesn't seem as eager to feed as he used to when he was younger. However if I feed him (takes about 10mins) he then settles himself back to sleep till the morning. I am not sure if I should be trying to teach him that he doesn't need this feed (breastfeed) or if I should wait till he decides to sleep all the way through (he has slept through once). I used to give him a dream feed but I found it didn't make a difference to when he woke up during the night and made it harder if we get babysitters in.
I used the controlled crying to help him learn how to settle himself which worked well and would be prepared to use it again during the night if I think that it will work and if that is what is best for him.
Thank you
