So many things are wrong I don't know where to start!

Help! As my profile says, my 3m old has loads of sleep problems, and I'm struggling to find a way through it, not least because I also have a very demanding toddler to look after!

1. Dylan feeds too often at day and night. In the day this is often due to my toddler's routine, and the need to 'top Dylan up' before we drop off/ pick up his brother. He also expects to be fed the minute he wakes up, regardless of how long he has been asleep fur and when the last feed was (day and night).
2. It takes me forever to get Dylan to sleep at night. Bath time is at 7, followed by formula feed (which I started in the hope it would help him sleep) - but it's usually 8.30-9 before fe goes to sleep, usually after a lot if rocking and/or another breastfeed.
3. He won't sleep for more than 2-3 hours at night before waking up to be resettled (usually by feeding).
4. As a result he ends up in our bed in the early hours - so i can get some sleep as I have to be up early to get them ready for the nursery run - and feeds in demand...
5. He can't settle himself to sleep at all - 1st nap is in sling on way to nursery, 2nd nap starts on way to pick up from nursery and hopefully continues when we get back, 3rd nap I have to wheel him in his car seat to get him to sleep.
6. He's been quite colicky, so waking up at night grunting and straining with wind / trying to poo. This is a lot better now but has made it difficult to sleep train him as I would just do anything to make him feel better - feed / bring into bed.

My main problem is that I know I've got into loads of bad habits but I'm not sure how to start to rectify them with a toddler in the house who I have to look after as well.

Sorry for waffling but I'm writing this at 11pm and already the 3rd time I've had to settle Dylan to sleep tonight!

	A much better night!! I went back to PUPD at bedtime and Dylan went to sleep at 8.15 after quite a grumbly half an hour. He then slept until 10pm and needed 20 mins of PUPD to get him back to sleep again (longer than usual at that time of night). When he woke just before 1 for a feed I gave him some calpol because I thought maybe his teeth were bothering him, plus he'd had his 3rd set of immunisations yesterday. He then slept for 3 hours!!!!!! He's never slept anything like that long at that time of night, he usually only does a long stretch at the beginning of the night if at all :) :). I feel like I've actually had some sleep!!! He's having another feed just before 5 - I was quite relieved he didn't wake a tiny bit later when I'd have to do PUPD until 6. Tbh it will be a bonus now if he goes back to sleep but I feel much better about things today. Fingers crossed the next night shows the same kind of progress... reply by sleepy10180 - 12 weeks ago

	Best night yet yay!! And I didn't have to use the water... 7.40 went to bed he cried a bit, I had to go back in and do PUPD just a couple of minutes then he went to sleep just before 8. 8.50 he woke up crying and I had to do PUPD a few minutes until he was back asleep at about 9 He then slept until 2.17!!!!!!!! Did a nappy change by which time if was 2.26 and time for a feed 3.20 he was back in his cot. He took a while to settle himself but I think he went to sleep at about 3.30 After that I'm not sure what happened, because I heard him wake up a couple if times but not to the extent where I had to get up to do PUPD. My best guess based on his normal sleep habits are he slept from 3.30-5 and 5.15-6. I switched the lights on and said good morning at 6.30, got us both up and am doing a feed just after 7 (ideally I want to stretch this first feed to 8 when my toddler has his breakfast). So amazing really, fingers crossed it continues! My husband just said it was nice to see me happy in the morning, oh dear what have I been like! If I could only get him to stop that evening wake up as well, then we could contemplate going out maybe! I din't want to just leave him crying though.
