I`m Katy, married to Andy, we have Jack, 2 1/2 and Evie, 5 months (although born 6 weeks prem so adjusted 3 1/2 months). We have had several health issues with Evie since born, she has severe reflux, has had an endoscopy (camera down) of which we are awaiting the results. She is on lacto free milk (neocate), domperidone and ranitidene to alleviate the reflux.

Evie is 5 months old but born 6 weeks prem so is 3 1/2 months adjusted. Since birth she has had several health issues which have been diagnosed as severe reflux. she is on a host of meds to deal with this. She is also lacto intolerant so on special milk. She feeds fairly poorly (around 500ml a day) and is under a dietician, she is still only 10lb at 5 months (born 5lb 3).

Evie struggles to be put down during the day and evenings. Night times, she is still waking twice but does settle well at night time. I can tolerate the wakes as she is still so tiny and just not eating enough to sustain her thru the night. She has slept thru the night when she has taken enough feed but this is a rariety.

The main issues we have is she will have several false starts before she eventually settles in her cot. We put her down awake, with a dummy and something near her face, she turns her head, goes quiet and sleeps, usually 10 mins later she is awake and crying, we go in, shush her, pull blankets around her etc and she goes quiet, we leave, 10 mins later she starts crying again. this cycle can go on for hours if we let it. She does eventually settle and sleeps well at night, unless ill, waking twice for feeds.

During the day she cat naps for 40mins, in her cot, buggy, car seat, etc but never beyond. However if we pick her up she will sometimes fall back off, as soon as we put her down she is awake again (we dont make a habit of this tho as we feel we are just being props and having a 2 year old i cant sit still for long!)

Her reflux is controlled by meds so this isnt such an issue anymore, however she associates feeds with pains and is not a happy baby just because of the pain she has suffered in the past and seems quite tetchy. we just wlould really like to know how to settle her at the first attempt rather than the 15th!
