Difficulty in routine and night waking
My daughter is now 13 months old and my huband and I are having problems with routine and also night waking. She has always been an early riser and wakes any time between 5 - 6 on a good day. Sometimes she sleeps through the night from 7 until 5-6 but she also wakes other nights in the early hours (say around 2/2:30am) and takes a couple of hours to settle back down and then oversleeps in the morning which messes up her routine, although I do try and bring her back into line with it as fast as I can through the day so that bedtime is the same.
We have tried to stick to routines but have confused ourselves by reading too many books which all seem to have differing opinions as to what times of day things should be done. Lately Sophie seems to be very tired at about 10am so I put her down for a nap. She takes a long time to settle to sleep though and doesnt usually get to sleep until about 11 or so and then she sleeps for a good 1 1/2 to 2 hours. She then has lunch at 12:30/1pm and then stays awake for the rest of the afternoon until she has dinner at 5 to 5:30pm and then milk at 6:30ish before either bath, baby massage, changed, brush teeth and then bed at 7pm or just baby massage, change, brush teeth and bed by 7pm.
Is this ok? The sleep book says she should have nap after lunch but she is rubbing her eyes, pulling her ears and lying down on the floor by 10 so dont think she would make it to lunchtime let alone be awake enough to eat it.
We are totally confused, please help.
