Topic: Settling for naps at the childminder

Settling for naps at the childminder

Hello

I'm about to go back to work - my son will be 1 years old. He currently sleeps from 6.45 - 6/7 & takes 2 naps a day. 9.30ish for 30 mins & 1.30pm for 30-60mins. He's currently settling in at the childminder & i'm not sure what to do about his naps. At home he always goes down awake & sometimes cries for up to 10mins but normally no tears or just a few tears. He is pretty much always settled for all naps by me & sometimes at the weekends by his dad. Should I tell the childminder to put him down awake and then do controlled crying to get to sleep? or is this cruel as he doesn't really know where he is yet etc so should I get the childminder to comfort him to sleep & do controlled crying once he's settled? I just don't want him to stop self settling at home but also don't want unnecessary tears at the childminder.

I look forward to your response. Thanks Natalie
