Gradual Withdrawl
Hi, We are struggling. My husband is currently trying to get Rose to sleep as we have got into some bad habits. She always falls asleep when breastfeeding and refuses to drink from a bottle or cup no matter how hard we try.
We have a bedtime routine that we always stick to and I really try and not put her to bed asleep but sometimes i just can't as she falls asleep when feeding. My husband has, for 7 nights gone to Rose as soon as she crys and stands over her when she is crying ssshhing her. She constantly stands up and he does not talk but puts her back to lying down. He does not pick her up or cuddle her. We tried CC but after a few minutes she would always make herself sick. In the last 7 days we have not really seen an improvement and he is up there now on the 7th night and she has been crying for over an hour!!! Should we not have seen an improvement by now? She goes to sleep at 7:45, always wakes about an hour later, takes over an hour to settle and then wakes again at about 10:30 - 11:00. I am trying to not feed her in the night and in the last 7 days have acheived this only 3 times as after about 1.5 hours of screaming and clawing at my top I have given in ( and then of course she has settled).
Can someone please offer us some help (or a magic solution) I want the success that so many on her talk about PLEASE.
I struggle with the crying which is why husband is doing it but we work together on this and try and be as consistent as possible.
Many thanks
