I am a 33 year old mum to Sophie who is 3 1/2 years old and to Benjamin who is 2 1/2 weeks old. I am married to Phil, we are blissfully happy. Our Little Princess sleeps for 12 hours every night-thanks to this website! Our Little Man however-seems to be a little mixed up with night and day just now!

I've just had my second child who is 2 1/2 weeks old and I am already obsessing about sleep after having a little trouble with my first but successfully using this forum to get her sleeping for 12 hours every night. Was wondering if there was anything I should be doing at this early stage that will help later on. He was 6 days overdue and weighed 8lbs 3oz and is currenty breast feeding every 2 hours on demand. During the day he is a little gem, but during the night he seems to wake for his first feed at around 2.30am (after a dream feed at 10.30pm) and then he is totally wide awake and really wont go back to sleep! If it was my first I would let him cry a little to settle himself (which I know he can do) but as my first has complained the she has been woken up in the middle of the night I probably go to him a little too quickly. Once he has fed at 2.30am he then seems to want to feed every 1-1 1/2 hours.

Just want reassurance at this stage that I am doing the right thing and and am working towards good sleep habits in the future.

Yippee!!He slept the best he has ever done last night! He slept from 715pm til 915pm (fed&changed) then slept from 945pm til 420am (fed for 5 mins) then back to sleep til 545am (feed of 15mins) and back to sleep until 7am! I was going to get him up at 6am after his feed but he was so sleepy that I put him back in his cot!

Yippee!!wow last night was great. he went to bed at 9pm and went to sleep by himself. he didnt wake for a feed til 4am then he went back down at 4:20am until 7:15am!

Yippee!!Last night was great, he slept until 3am, fed and back down by 3.30am then slept until 6:30am when I fed again and we got up for the day! he has fed very well and napped well today so hopefully another good night in store!
